Good light.
At the right time.
SMARTinfeld began with smart street lighting. Today, the project combines lighting, operational experience and digital infrastructure.
Discover in the villageHow can street lighting respond to actual needs?
The switch to LED luminaires and networked control was an early part of the project. Residents could give feedback during a trial installation phase. Adjusted switching times, for events for example, form part of the described use concept.
Street-lighting data will be added later. The following model calculation is independent of those data.
How much energy
does a night need?
Adjust the assumptions and compare electricity demand over an example twelve-hour night.
12 kWh per example night
Calculation: number × power × operating time. Power is reduced proportionally during the selected phase. Brightness, actual dimming curves, control system consumption and seasonal night lengths are not modelled. This does not control real lights. What do
the data tell us?
Live street-lighting data have not yet been connected to this new website. Luminaire status, actual consumption and measured savings are therefore not yet displayed.
Alongside luminaires, operation involves maintenance, communication channels and clear responsibilities. The project history documents the development of control systems and software based on several years of experience.
