What is happening in the Rosoppe? And how moist is the soil? Measurements help make local changes visible.

01 / THE QUESTION

How is water changing in our surroundings?

02 / OUR SOLUTION

At the bridge from Flinsberger Straße to the Rasen, an ultrasonic sensor measures the Rosoppe's water level. Two soil moisture measurement points add readings from different depths.

PUTTING DATA INTO CONTEXT

What do
the data tell us?

Water level and soil moisture are different measurements. The two soil readings are taken at depths of 15 and 30 centimetres at different trees. Differences therefore do not automatically indicate a trend over time or the effect of rain.

Time series make changes visible. The water level shown here is a local measurement, not an official flood warning. Individual readings do not replace an assessment of conditions on site.
